Blind Talents

Ever noticed how some people with great talents can't seem to apply those same talents in their personal lives? Take my grandmother for instance. In her younger years she was Vice President of a Bank and did a damn good job. Bank files were always in balance. However, in her personal life, she's had to file bankruptcy twice because she lacks the ability to control her own finances.

Same goes for me. I have a psychology degree, and can see every one of my friend's, and even some stranger's, reasons for behavior, but can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Yes, isn't it odd? And, in a similar vein, have you ever noticed how much you *hate* a personality trait in others that you possess, as well?! Humans are quirky critters, that's for sure. :-)

I'd say what you've described is the rule, not the exception.

Hey, where were you? I kept checking but no new posts, now two come along at once...
My wife is a highly qualified nurse with a curriculum vitae as long as your arm but in our cupboard the first aid/medicine box is rather pathetic and most of the contents are down to me. It's like you say.

Just a guess, but you're putting too much stock into that dream book of yours ;)

Sometimes it is just easier to be organized in one area of your life. I am too tired when I get home from work to care if my checkbook balances because my energy was spent on making sure other people's checkbooks were in order.

Kara! Kara! Where are you? It's late September now and we haven't heard a word.
