Working Girl
I really don't wanna work anymore. I've just decided. Okay, maybe not JUST decided. I just got promoted (note to self, post about that in the next few days) which I'm very proud of, but that's not satisfying enough to make me actually LIKE working. I mean, I merely work to put food on the floor for my dog. It pays the bills. I don't LOVE it. Can't someone just win the lottery and send me a check every month? Please? I'll um, walk your dog while you're off traveling the globe. I'll dust off your Faberge eggs. I'll shine your Rolex collection. Wait, that's all WORK, isn't it? Nevermind. Just send me the check once a month and we can call it even. (yes, even) See how easy I am to work with?

It's Over
And I'm so glad! I hope it was merry!
What's the best or worst gift that you got this year?
What gift did you want but didn't get?

I Bet He Wears a Pocket Protector
Who talks like this??? Below is an email chain I exchanged with a guy at work. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but I bet he was on the Math Team in high school, and I'm pretty sure he didn't go to prom...
Subject: FW 49
Hi Kara -
I understand that you're our new contact for Marketing. If you have some time FW 49, I'd like to introduce myself and give you an idea of our product marketing plan we have for 2006.
Thanks in advance, and happy holidays!
Scott
Program Manager
My response:
Hi Scott,
You are correct, I am the new Marketing Manager. I’d love to schedule some time to go over your plans for 2006 as it pertains to your product, and wouldn’t mind a little pk (product knowledge) class on those products as well. Being new to the team, I’m not as up to speed on all of the products we sell and market. I’m not exactly sure what FW 49 is, but I keep my calendar in Outlook if you want to schedule us some time to get together.
Thanks and I look forward to meeting with you soon!
Kara
His response:
Hi Kara.
FW 49 means Fiscal Week 49, which is the week of Jan 2 - 8 on your calendar. Why don't I look at your calendar that week and we can settle on a date & time? I can plan to give you a product review as well.
Look forward to working with you!
Thanks-
Scott
He talks in Fiscal Weeks??? What, did he get married in FW 24? Was his first child born in FW 9?
I hope all of you are having a great FW 47!
Oh, and Happy Holidays in FW 47 and 48!

An "EX-mas" Card
Don't you think that being broken up for 2 years with an ex-boyfriend AND the fact that he's now married to someone else should get you off of his sister's Christmas card mailing list? Just asking what the cut-off point and/or rules and regulations of that should be because I continue to get Christmas cards from my ex's sister.
I guess I really can't blame her. I'd like me better than what he's currently got, too. At least she knows he screwed up.

An Ugly Epidemic
Out and about at Christmas parties and shopping for gifts, I’ve noticed a lot of attractive men lately dating some very not-so attractive women. Do these men know the ramifications of what they’re doing? Why, they’re watering down the attractive people population, that’s what they’re doing! This is my theory on what happens:
Attractive man dates unattractive woman.
As a result, attractive woman resorts to dating unattractive man because all of the attractive men are taken.
Unbalanced couples start having children.
End result = a population of average-looking kids.
Now c’mon guys. It’s up to you. The fate of the attractive population is in your hands. Step up! Realize you’re an attractive person, that you CAN date an attractive woman, and go. date. her! Marry her! Have kids! We cannot let some insecurities on your part water down the attractive people gene pool, now can we?

Whoville or the Start of Something Like It
Alright. My parents bought and brought over my fresh cut, CHRISTMAS tree and Christmas decorations so I'll be decorating afterall. I'm far from done (still need to hang ornaments), but it's a start. I even have my Christmas cat and Christmas dogs (the lesser known but most handsome of all reindeers is mine, "Santa" is my parent's dog, and the pretty elf is my sister's).

The Stockings Aren't Hung By the Chimney - Just Yet
If you don't decorate for Christmas, does that automatically make you a Grinch?
Since I didn't decorate for Halloween, did that make me a Wench?
Just checking.

LOST
Really?
ANOTHER rerun? I love it, but if you don't keep my interest with more than 1 or 2 more new shows, I'm about to get lost.

Educating the World on Kara
Kara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
For the Kryptonian character, see Supergirl. (I looked it up and apparently my super powers include flight, invulnerability, super-strength, super-speed, super-breath, vision powers including x-ray vision, heat vision, and telescopic vision. Not bad my friends, noooot bad.)
Kara is a city in northern Togo. Originally known as Lama-Kara, Etienne Eyadéma was born nearby and has developed the former village into an administrative and industrial centre, including a large brewery. Attractions include major wrestling contests.
Kara is also a type of bracelet worn in South Asia, and a requirement to be worn by followers of the Sikh faith.
Wow. I sound like fun for anyone that's interested in flying on my back to Togo for a beer, a wrestling match, and then to Asia for a bracelet, don't I? Grab my red cape and let's go.
"We're oooofffff to save the daaaayyyy..." wait, that's Mighty Mouse, isn't it? Nevermind.

I Have to Brag a Little
Would you just LOOK at what showed up at my office Thursday and then again on Friday!? Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!? These caused quite a stir with the girls at the office. I can't even tell you the smile they put on my face. All of the sudden, I instantly had a breathtaking garden surrounding the lifesucking views in my cube.
